Terrace guides#
On this page
Keep tenancies, recorded rent, inspections and maintenance in good order. These guides follow the screens in your own Terrace installation.
Start here#
- Getting started: run Terrace, finish setup and add your first tenancy.
- Tenancies and renewals: record lease terms and review a prepared renewal.
- Rent, arrears and owner statements: record charges, external receipts and corrections, then export a period statement.
- Inspections and maintenance: retain photo evidence and hand approved work to a trade.
Bring your records and look after them#
- Move into Terrace: preview and approve the tenancy CSV, inspect its journal and undo unchanged imports.
- Backup and restore: save your records and photographs, then restore into an empty installation.
- People, roles and erasure: invite a manager or preparer, remove access and erase a tenancy.
- Command API: authenticated commands for integrations and member-account agents.
What Terrace records#
Terrace records rent charges and money already received in your existing system. It does not collect rent, hold or move funds, reconcile a trust account, lodge bonds, screen tenants or publish listings.
Renewals and arrears follow-ups are reviewed decisions. Terrace does not generate or serve statutory notices. Maintenance packets are unsent email files: a person sends them through their own email client and records the handoff afterwards.
Terrace is free and open source under the MIT licence. You can keep and change your installation's source. The repository's first-release scope and operating instructions describe its boundaries and commands.
